THE MAISON TODAY
13/07/11 - Summer 2011
« Museums »:
Our workshop has been appointed by Fontainebleau Castle to work on the theater restoration project. The theater has been created by emperor Napoleon III. The project backed by a well-known philanthropist aims at protecting the site content heritage as well as using it for theater shows.
Regarding Compiègne Castle, our workshop is proceeding to an important restoration of Impress Eugénie music room furniture. This goldenwood Louis XVI furniture, stamped by Sené and completed by a Jacob’s rest bed, has been created for Queen Marie Antoinette personal office in Saint-Cloud Castle. Later on, it has been padded and covered by green damask for Impress Eugènie under the Second Empire before being ultimately covered by red lampas on the occasion of Tsar Nicolas II visit, in 1901.
The restoration project aims at restoring the furniture to its original Second Empire style, padded and covered by green damask. This is a first time ever restoration of an 18th century furniture, occurring at Napoléon III Compiègne Castle, in the very private space that’s the Impress music room.
As for Versaillles Castle, our workshop is finishing the restoration of two Marie-Antoinette chairs at Trianon.
Maison Brazet has also just finished the restoration of Malmaison Castle front veranda, based on its historical look.
« Private Clients » :
Maison Brazet has been selected to make beautiful curtains embroided by Jean-François Lesage for the prestigious Clarke Castle wineyard.
At the image of the good work done in this nice Bordeaux wineyard, the curtains reflect the creativity as well as the great tradition of French hand embroidery.
We’re also very busy with two big projects, in Neuilly and in Brussels, as well as other client requests.
